Frequently Asked
Questions
Q: What type of paint do you use?
A: I use Benjamin Moore, Muralo, Sherwin Williams as well as high-end glazes, and faux-finishing materials.

Q: How do you price your work?
A: I price my work based on an hourly rate of $60.00 per hour, plus a materials charge and NJ State Tax. This estimate is the "ceiling" price meaning the cost of the project will not go beyond this amount. Once I finish the project, I tally up the amount of labor hours, add the materials and charge tax.
I have found an international mural pricing chart on the internet to be very helpful for people. I discovered that my prices are generally lower that what is on this scale. The website is: www.members.tripod.com

Q: Can you give me a quote over the phone or do you have to see the space in person?
A: In all fairness I need to see the space. The complexity or simplicity of the space affects the
final price quote.

Q: Do you charge for the initial estimate?
A: If you live within 50 miles of the Piscataway area, (near New Brunswick) there is no charge for the initial estimate. However, for distances beyond 50 miles, a $50.00 consultation fee will be applied to cover travel expenses. I will deduct this $50.00 from the amount when we go to contract.

Q: Once we talk on the phone, what happens next?
A: We need to set up an appointment so we can discuss ideas and look at the space. Once we go to contract, I will make sample boards or sample drawings for you. These boards or drawings can be changed according to your specifications.

Q: What are your office hours?
A: The hours vary according to my work schedule. My office hours are generally M-F 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. unless I am on a job. I am also available Saturdays 9 a.m. until 12 noon. If I do not personally answer your call, please leave a message. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Q: How long does a mural, border, or furniture take to complete?
A: The completion of a Mural can take anywhere from two days to several weeks on site, depending on the complexity of the mural.
Borders take at least one day to complete on site. Furniture takes several days, since there are many processes involved.

Q: I am pregnant. How much advance time must I give you to do the nursery?
A: As much as you can! I may be under contract to work on another client's space and I may not be able to switch dates with that client.

Q: What is your painting style?
A: I can adapt my style to my client's needs, whether the client is seeking a more realistic portrayal or a more
hard-edged, "cartoon-like" rendition of something.

Q: Are you insured?
A: Yes!

Q: Are you a licensed contractor?
A: I am licensed in the state of NJ. My license number is 13VH03204100.

Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: Yes, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover cards are accepted.
